Reseda Group’s Ben Maxim Named ‘Technologist of the Year’

CUSO CTO recognized by Finopotamus for outstanding achievement in credit union technology
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Finopotamus, the only online publication providing in-depth technology coverage exclusively to credit unions, announced Reseda Group’s Ben Maxim as the winner of its 2022 Tekkie Award for Technologist of the Year.
Maxim, who serves as chief technology officer at Reseda Group and chief digital strategy and innovation officer at Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), is the first recipient of the special award recognizing an individual whose achievements embody not only great technology but also the credit union ethos of people helping people.

Under Maxim’s guidance and leadership, MSUFCU is on the cutting-edge of innovation and financial technology collaboration in the industry with the development of The Lab at MSUFCU, which pilots innovative solutions such as a conversational artificial intelligence platform. As CTO of Reseda Group, he played a key role in launching the CUSO (credit union service organization) wholly owned by MSUFCU to help develop credit union technology through fintech subsidiaries Ever Green 3C and Spave.

In addition to his roles at MSUFCU, Reseda Group and subsidiaries, Maxim is a founding member of the Innovation Forum at Forum Ventures and provides mentorship to numerous fintech organizations such as Filene’s i3 program, Members Development Co.’s NextUP, Curql and CU Build. A graduate of Michigan State University, Maxim also works with MSU’s student programs like the Capstone Experience, SpartaHack and Spartan Blockchain.
